To reproduce the problem (having $SHELL set as /bin/bash/, even though the login shell is /bin/zsh ), I just had to change iTerm setting back to Command: /bin/zsh/. settings, including >iTerm2. Window: Transparency: 5 Blur: 20 Installing Homebrew. Reading the iTerm2 settings from the folder can be problematic, I would suggest the URL method. However, Id like to export the settings for this profile and distribute them to end-users. I currently have this as my folder: /Users/bea704/. You can export your profile by going to Settings - Profiles, then go to other actions and then Save Profile as JSON. This option lets iTerm adequately save and restore your terminal sessions.
